For
many years, the SouthEastern Electrification Council
(SEEC) provided continuing education classes for
electrical and mechanical-air contractors throughout
Georgia. However, this organization was dissolved
as of January 1, 2006. The instructors were able to
affiliate with the Department of Biological and
Agricultural Engineering at the University of
Georgia so that the continuing education classes
could continue to be offered. In accordance with
the Georgia Secretary of State requirements,
attendance records from these sessions will be
maintained at the University of Georgia for the
required five years following a session.
J & W Educational Services was created by
former SEEC instructors to offer continuing
education classes and other training services
similar to those offered in the past by the SEEC
organization. Our current team of instructors,
Jim, Randy, Steve and Wendell will continue to
provide quality sessions that meet all
requirements of the Secretary of State’s office for
license renewals. Currently, four hours of
continuing education are required by the state each
year in order to renew the Electrical and the Warm
Air Contractors License. Each of our courses is
tailored to meet the four hour requirement, and the
classes are available
throughout the state. Each person registered in the
class will receive a certificate to provide proof of
attendance at the seminar.
In 2010 we were approved to
offer in class continuing education for those
electrical contractors holding license in North
Carolina, in 2013 we added Alabama, Kentucky and
Maryland.
Georgia HVAC Contractors must renew their
licenses by November 30, of odd numbered years, and
Georgia Electrical
Licenses must be renewed by June 30, of even
numbered years.
